Join Franciscan hearted people from across the country this October 18-20, 2025 in Washington, D.C. Together, we will learn, grow, and connect, empowered to make an impact in our communities and beyond.
This transformative event is brought to you by the Franciscan Action Network (FAN) and the Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities (AFCU). Rooted in the Franciscan tradition, we will amplify our collective voices on pressing national and global issues.
Please note that this year, lodging must be booked separately from registration. We have reserved a block of rooms at the conference venue at a special conference rate and recommend that you book your room as soon as possible. When booking, you will see a $26 destination fee included in the online rate. However, this fee will not appear on your final bill. This means that each room costs $189/night before taxes (NOT $215).

What Awaits You at the Conference
This year’s gathering will offer:
- Training on nonviolent communication and effective civic engagement
- Inspiring speakers and panels presenting diverse perspectives
- Opportunities for prayer, reflection, and Franciscan community-building
- A visit to Capitol Hill to meet with congressional representatives and present our perspectives on peace, justice, and care for creation.
Participants are responsible for their transportation to and from Washington, D.C. Please see the FJLC Transportation Guide for more information.
Inspired by Pope Francis’ repeated call for us to come together, the Franciscan Justice Leadership conference brings multiple generations of the Franciscan family together with an intentional outreach to young adults.
Goals of the Franciscan Justice Leadership Conference:
- Connect with each other.
- Inspire service and advocacy for creation, peace, and justice in our communities.
- Empower participants to exercise their voices.
- Engage in dialogue with each other and on Capitol Hill.
- Be reminded how much each person matters and is needed in the Franciscan Movement.
The Franciscan Justice Leadership Conference embraces and highlights the Franciscan charism as a way to live a Gospel life, empowering participants of any generation to be leaders in their own communities.

- Submit Student Information – To ensure a smooth and well-organized conference experience, please make sure this required Google Form is submitted for each individual in your group ASAP with a final deadline of Sept. 10, 2025. This form is critical for:

✔ Dietary restrictions, allergies, and medical conditions
✔ T-shirt sizes
