On December 4, Senators Dick Durbin and Lisa Murkowski introduced the DREAM Act of 2025, a bipartisan bill that would finally provide stability and protection for young people who were brought to the U.S. as children and have grown up here. For over twenty years, Dreamers have lived with uncertainty while studying, working, and contributing to our communities. As Franciscan-hearted people, we are called to honor the God-given dignity of every person, protect family unity, and stand with those made vulnerable by our immigration system. Supporting the DREAM Act is a concrete way to embody compassion, accompaniment, and justice.
